Rising pop artist MACY is continuing her steady climb in the music industry with the release of her vibrant new single, “Please Keep Talking.” The South Wales singer-songwriter returns with a playful track that blends humour, relatable storytelling and glossy pop production.

Hailing from Blaenau Gwent in South Wales, MACY has built a reputation for creating bright, feel-good pop music driven by catchy hooks and honest lyrics. Much of her early work was written and recorded from her bedroom, where she began shaping the sound that first caught listeners’ attention with her debut single “Cinema” in 2020.

Despite coming from a region where opportunities in the music industry can be limited, the singer has steadily carved her own lane. Over the past few years she has released two EPs and a growing catalogue of pop tracks that showcase her confident songwriting and energetic style. Beyond her music, MACY is also known for her commitment to inspiring young creatives, regularly returning to schools and community spaces in her hometown to encourage self-expression through music.

Her latest single, “Please Keep Talking,” captures the artist at her most playful. The song turns the awkward experience of being stuck in an uncomfortable conversation into a tongue-in-cheek pop anthem. MACY co-wrote the track with Owain Felstead and award-winning producer Zak Lloyd at Birchwood Recording Studio in Newport.

Lloyd brings heavyweight pop credentials to the project, with experience connected to the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour and collaborations with artists such as Calum Scott, Wonho, Charli XCX and Keane.

His work has also featured on global television platforms including America's Got Talent and The Voice, bringing a polished, arena-ready feel to MACY’s vibrant songwriting.

Inspired by the pop stylings of artists like Jessie J, Dua Lipa and Olivia Dean, the new single pairs MACY’s expressive vocals with upbeat production, delivering a track designed to be both catchy and relatable.

Still only in her mid-twenties, MACY has already achieved significant milestones. She has secured multiple A-List placements on BBC Radio Wales and recently made her debut on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show.

Her live performances have also taken her to major stages including the BAFTA Cymru Awards and Principality Stadium in Cardiff, where she performed before a crowd of 50,000.

Her festival appearances include Focus Wales, 110 Above Festival, Swansea Fringe and the international M for Montreal Festival in 2024. MACY has also curated her own Cardiff mini-festival, PLANET POP, and appeared on ITV’s primetime show BackStage, while sharing a stage with Emeli Sandé during the Scott Quinnell Christmas Show.

With continued support from organisations such as BBC Introducing, PRS Foundation, Youth Music and Help Musicians, MACY is increasingly being recognised as one of Wales’ most exciting emerging pop voices.
