British rock star and Grammy Award-winner YUNGBLUD has officially revealed the second chapter of his ambitious concept album series. Titled Idols II, the project will be released digitally on 20 February 2026 via Island Records/Locomotion, expanding the universe he first introduced in 2025.
The new instalment features six brand-new songs and includes a special collaborative version of the Grammy-nominated track ‘Zombie’ with alternative rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins. Fans also now know the album’s lead single — ‘Suburban Requiem’ — which sets the tone for the next phase of the era.
A Personal Second Chapter
The 28-year-old Yorkshire-born musician has described Idols II as deeply personal and reflective. While the first record explored emotional struggle and identity, the follow-up marks a turning point in his journey.
“Part 1 was a journey that helped me reclaim my identity from the darkest position I’ve ever been in my life. Part 2 is about realizing that I am alive, that I am real — that this journey didn’t kill me,” Yungblud explained.
Rather than simply continuing the story, Idols II reframes it. The project explores survival, self-acceptance, and emotional resilience, themes that have become central to the artist’s connection with his global fanbase.
A Landmark Era for British Rock
The original Idols album arrived in June 2025 and debuted at No. 1 in the UK, becoming Yungblud’s third consecutive chart-topper. Critics praised its wide sonic range, blending theatrical rock, raw vocals, and pop-rock ballads.
His momentum didn’t stop there. In November 2025, he secured another UK No. 1 album — his fourth overall — with One More Time, a collaboration with Aerosmith that also gave the legendary band their first ever UK chart-topping record.
Earlier this year, his influence reached new heights when he won Best Rock Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards following his live rendition of ‘Changes’. With three nominations across major rock categories, he became the first British artist ever nominated three times in rock categories in a single year.
Physical Editions and Collectibles
Alongside the digital release, collectors will get multiple physical editions later in the year, including:
A store-exclusive ‘Idols (Complete)’ 180g 2LP audiophile vinyl
CD edition containing all 19 tracks from Idols and Idols II
A silver transparent Idols II vinyl featuring new artwork
UK Arena Tour 2026
Fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new songs live. Yungblud will embark on a sold-out UK arena tour in April 2026, culminating in a major headline performance at London’s O2 Arena.
