Hull Folk and Maritime Festival welcomed music fans once again this Saturday at Social, Humber Street.
The popular annual festival, which is now in its fourteenth year, saw music listeners from across the area gather to hear a selection of talented local artists take to the stage.

Lloyd Dobbs, Festival Organiser, said: “We’re thrilled to have so many amazing local folk singers and bands in this year’s lineup, and delighted to see music fans from across the area come together to hear brilliant folk and maritime music.”
“The folk festival has existed in various different forms for forty years, but this is our fourteenth year as the Hull Folk Festival.”

“We are hosting the festival at a much smaller venue this year, but are determined to keep the same warm spirit that we always offer. Social is a fantastic performance space and we have a great team working to make the festival a success.”
“In addition to our musical acts, we’re also hosting Minerva singaround sessions both evenings. Everybody is welcome to bring their own instrument and jam together.”

Saturday’s schedule saw an exciting mix of local folk artists and bands. Highlights included folk-swing troupe Moon Moth who charmed the room with their wholesome saxophone stylings, and headliners Hillbilly Troupe.
The crowd gave each act a very warm East Yorkshire welcome as they took to the Social stage, with jokes and laughs aplenty.
The festival continues into Sunday with yet more folk and maritime artists performing from 1pm.
