Driffield Show celebrates 150 years
Driffield Show celebrated its 150th birthday this week. The annual agricultural show opened its gates at Driffield Showground to welcome thousands of visitors from all over the county and country.
With an exciting mix of competitions, demonstrations, stalls, and displays, there was something for everybody to experience.
An overcast but dry morning turned to warm sunshine early in the afternoon, making for perfect ice-cream weather.
Four-legged friends took part in the highly competitive charity dog show, with categories ranging from ‘most appealing eyes’ to ‘dog the judges would most like to take home.’
Over in the arena, spectators were treated to an array of exciting equine competitions and displays, with world-famous Benjamin Atkinson’s action horses dazzling the crowds.
Little ones were spoilt for entertainment, with plenty of rides, animal experiences, and shows to be enjoyed, including live stage performances courtesy of East Riding Library.
Show organisers are thrilled with the success of this year’s show, and delighted to see patrons turning out in their thousands to enjoy everything Driffield Show has to offer.
